Email Marketing- Where To Begin?

Hello! Tim here again to talk to you about a popular but yet very underrated form of marketing. Namely, email marketing.

"Is email marketing really that important to my small business?' Absolutely! Studies show that 97% of small business use email marketing as an avenue to reach out to customers. It's important to have good campaign open rates, but it's even more important that what you email your customer is useful to them.

There's definitely power in personalizing your emails as well.  Using your name in the sender line creates a personal vibe between you and your customer as well as using a subject line that doesn't seem like a scam or a sale. This can decrease your open rate. Example using "Success Ebook- 10% off" vs "Click here- This ebook benefits you" can mean the difference of if your email is opened or sent to the trash.

When preparing to send an email out always think  if one of the email lists I'm subscribed to send this email out with this same subject line would I open it. As in the immortal words of Ian Bass " You want the sender line to be leading, but not misleading" If you're advertising a surefire plan in your subject line that's certainly what should be in your email.

Make a realistic plan for your email marketing Campaign. Set objectives of what you plan on accomplishing through the year. Don't be afraid to have a routine where certain days you send out tips and advice and others you send out sales and promotions. You have to be assertive in this business. Testing the water can help you find which times are better to sale as an end result.

Treat your email list like their V.I.P. Give them information and insight they can't find on your blog or landing page. Go into detail and give them something to look forward to in your next email. This is also referred to as setting expectations. I hope you find this information helpful and I hope this article helps you take your email marketing campaign to the next level.
